My life as I know it!

Hello my dearest friends and family,

As you know, I havent updated my blog for quite some time now but Im here to update. I havent been up to alot lately apart from working, but last weekend me and my sister did head up to Oxford for the day just to have a look around and get a feel for university life!

We got our Oxford university jumpers just to fool everyone her in grey and mine in pink. There was also a great street market going on, with beautiful greek olives and buckets and buckets of turkish delight in all different flavours.

The buildings in Oxford were unbelievable, so old and so beautiful. I cant believe there've been around longer than the whole of Australia! One of the best things was a cute little pub we went to, It was actually the oldest pub in brittain, established in 1234. At the pub we had our first pimms of the season and it was just perfect, although not as much fruit as usual.

This weekend is the Easter Long Weekend and Sharn is in Grand Paris with her boyfriend so I had to entertain myself for the weekend. So far I've been to the V and A museum to see the Kylie Exhibition and it was fantastic, her wardrobe is inspiring and I would really like it (for anyone stuck on 21st presents!). Unfortunatley I couldn't take any pictures.

The weather has been great this week, sunny blue skies, bikini weather, I think it got upto 20 degrees!!

Theres still 2 days left of the long weekend, and I still have a few things up my sleeve. I might head back to buckingham palace, see if the queen is home this time, even if Harry is in Barbados!!!

Looking for a job sux!

Well I hope veryone is well, cause Im not! Im looking for a job and it kinda sux! especially when I dont have a computer at home that works, so I have to go into internet cafe's all day! I've emailed lots of people, and have got some responses, but not the responses I actually want!!! I just wanna go home and watch Ugly Betty!!! I havent done anything else this week thats really worth talking about...me and my sister moved house on the weekend. We moved to a place thats not far from the old place, but its much bigger, more people. We have our own room up on the top floor (top of 3 floors!) so lots of stairs means ill have the best legs next time you see me!! We are sharing, but thats not such a bad thing, we've definatly made it our space with the mess! Another great thing about the house is there is lots of people (8 including me and sharna) and the people are really nice, and I think its a bit of a party house, which will good!!! must go now, more jobs calling me!!!

Ive been sick, is that a good enough excuse?!

Hi everyone,
I know you've all been waiting eagerly, so now I will supply, but I have been sick, so I think that is a good enough excuse!
So being sick, I havent actually done anything this week, but last week, me and Sharna did the tourist things around London, but not before truly welcoming me to England with a night at the Redback. It was a fun night, but we did have a limit as we needed to get up the next day early, and start our next adventure.

So we started bright and early, and wasnt to cold which was good (by the way, not that cold in england means 8 degrees), we got on the tube (my new favourite thing to do) and headed into the city!
We wandered around for a bit, just checking out the surrounding, and went down to SOHO, checked out china town and tried to avoid all the Australians out for Australia day. Eventually we found a great little Korean Barbeque Restaurant in SOHO that was so cute and out of the way, plus all Sharna felt like was noodle soup. It was a great little restaurant, and when we turned up, we were the only ones in the place, when we left, it was full, very popular!
Once we left, we decided to head on, and check out the rest of the city, so we went to one place I cant remember the name of, but Ill put up the picture, that had these HUGE lions in front of them and everyone was climbing on them, and a huge fountain in front of it, maybe it was house of parliament or something! Anyways, there it is.... So from there we walked down towards the Big Ben, and on the way, checked out more sites. The one thing I really love about England, is that all the buildings are so old and well presevered, i can understand why they are all so expensive. On our way to see big ben, we also passed some guards on horses, just sitting there, i think the guards were asleep! But they were protecting something, and the horses were beautiful. Then we passed someone elses house, a certain number 10 Dowing Street! We didnt see the PM but there was a man with a really big gun outside his door that scared up off pretty quickly! So we kept on walking, and not long after, you turn a corner and there it is...BIG BEN!

After we walked past big ben, we walked over the river to the london eye, and it is HUGE! I havent gone on it yet, but I've got a year, so no rush! But along the river is great, theres also the aquarium along there which we're going to see soon hopefully, this day we just went into the gift shop, and that was fun enough, let me tell you!! After a while of walking along the river, we say some Korean students playing instruments and painting things, so while Sharna played the drum I walked around and had a look at their paintings. There was a girl sitting down and in front of her it had a sign saying "We will write down your name in traditional Korean calligraphy" so we thought we'd give it a shot, so we wrote down Toula. The girl started with the T and it kind of looked normal, but by the time she got to the O it still looked normal, low and behold, all she did was write Toula, which gave me an idea, I thought I'd sit down by the river, and put a sign up saying "Let me write your name in traditional Australian calligraphy" and see how many people i can get to pay me!!! Good idea huh?! So that was our big adventure this day.

The next day we slept in a bit after our big site seeing day before, but we still got up and jumped on the tube, and headed back into town to visit the Queen. But before we visited the queen, we made it into Harrods, where I bought some sushi, which was very nice, and Harrods is so spectacular for a shop, and the brands, Oh My God its the best, if only I could afford those things!!! After Harrods had worn us out a bit, we went around the corner to Wagamama's, the BEST noodle house (as you can tell from the photos) we will definately be going back there soon! After we filled up on our noodle soups, we headed of to have tea with the Queen,I have to say, Im quite jealous of the Queen's house, but it wont be long before Im on the thrown next to "King Harry"! I didn't get to see the changing of the guard this day, but I will make sure to check it out another time, but I did get to see the current guards doing a little dance outside the palace, I wanted to put some music on for them! The flag was flying which means that the Queen was actually home Sharna informed me, and we saw some lights going on and off, so we think when we were there, they were just sitting down for dinner!! That was all we really did that day, because we slept in we didnt have a lot of time to do much before it got dark, plus I was still stuffed after the day before exploring the city. Enjoy and hopefully I'll write again sooner. oxox

*IM IN ENGLAND*

Well hello my dearest friends and family,
Today I have started my day in England (still cant quiet believe Im actually here!). But before I start all that, heres how my day went yesterday, from the beginning!
Monday 21st Jan, left for the airport, got to the airport, check in wasnt hard all my bags were the right weight, but then i freaked out, cause we tried to put something else into my case, and the zipper broke a bit (all good now). Then once my big case was all booked in we had to wait a while, so we walled aroung a bit (we being my mum, dad and sister), got a drink, and waled around a bit more. At about 11 o'clock I was starting to get a bit restless, so at about 11:30pm I walked through the doors, a few tears, but less than I expected. Got through customs fine, no drugs or weapons on board! Walked around for a while, but got over that quickly as my backpack was a bit heavy!
Tuesday 22nd Jan, Boarded the plane around 12am got cosy and got out my journal. At about 12:45-1:00am the plane decided it was time to head off, so off we went, into the great beyond! Plane ride was a bit boring, a bit uneventful! But got throught it OK.
At around 5:50am Kuala Lumpar time, we landed to a bleak morning, still a bit dark, but still 25 degrees I think the captain said! After streeching my legs for a while, and finding a big bottle of water (7 ozzie dollars!) and a place to sit, I decided to call home, but my stupid card wouldn't work, so I had to buy a new phone card, and yet that new 1 still didnt work, so luckily I found an internet place, so I emailed both my sisters and all was good. At about 8:30am KL time, we started boarding the final plane (and starting to get really excited at this point), the 2nd plane ride was as uneventful as the 1st, although I did watch Pretty Woman twice! Aned eventially at about 3:55pm UK time the 2nd plane landed with no trouble (and by now, Ive realised that Im over my fear of flying, nothing to be worried about!).
Going throught customs again on this side was easier agina because I already had my UK visa, just had to stamp it, then I walked on the get my bag, and started to freak out after a while because I couldnt see it coming, but after a while, I saw all the ribbons me and mum had put on the night before, just for this reason!
As soon as I saw the big doors coming towards me I couldn't help but smile, and then all of a sudden I heard a certain someone screaming "Toula, Toula" and it was none other than my Toula (my sister!) with a big sign and all for me!
So once we got all that sorted we got onto THE TUBE and caught that to our stop. By this stage I was a bit drained, but still full of adrenilin after seeing sharn after 10 months, although it didnt feel like she'd ever left! Once we got back to her place, i sort of crashed on the couch watching Home and Away and Dawsons Creek (their so behind the times over here!), while sharn went to look at a place to move into to (which apparently we're moving into this weekend!). I jumped into bed not long after sharn left, and then she came home again and we all fell asleep.
Wednesday 23rd Jan, I have just woken up, its about 7:00am and I feel much better, I look out the window and it's SNOWING, its started already, I love it, yet I havent actually gone out in the snow yet!! Not quite dressed for it!
So now, Im might get some breakfast, 'ave a cuppa tea, and graba shower, must start the next day of my BIG ADVENTURE! WOOP!
Love to you all
